The largest music festival in the state is set to return to Rothbury next June, with tickets going on sale this Friday. Todd Ernst, the columnist for Local Spins’ Looking for the Perfect Beat, provides an overview of the announced lineup.
It is an unmistakable indication that the first week of December has arrived: the annual excitement surrounding the reveal of the Electric Forest lineup, marking the beginning of the six-month countdown to the pilgrimage to Rothbury.
For the year 2026, Michigan’s largest music festival will once again take place at Double JJ Resort, located north of Muskegon, from June 25-28. This week, promoters have unveiled an initial Phase 1 lineup that does not require a Phase 2 to enhance their roster of stars.
Standard - 1/19-26
The 2026 lineup is anchored by prominent electronic artists, including Chris Lake, Eli Brown, GRiZ, Illenium, and Kaskade.
Fan favorites such as Disco Lines, Odd Mob, Purple Disco Machine, Sidepiece, Shpongle, and Westend further enrich an already impressive year for electronic music enthusiasts.
Ranger Trucco from Traverse City will make his return in 2026 following a remarkable 2025 festival season, during which Local Spins observed him captivating full audiences at both ARC (Chicago) and EDC (Orlando). Additionally, Southfield native GRiZ is set to illuminate the 2026 festival in multiple ways, with Electric Forest promoting a “Chasing the Golden Hour” performance.
For admirers of Fred Again and Barry Can’t Swim, Sammy Virji is currently on an ambitious trajectory towards Rothbury.
Shawn Colvin - through February 26
Personally, while I had hoped to see Rüfüs Du Sol included in the lineup, I am most eagerly anticipating Bob Moses (club set).
For those in search of a bit of genre diversity, consider Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country, Dogs in a Pile, Eggy, DJ Diesel (also known as Shaq), T-Pain, rocktronic’s Sullivan King, and, in keeping with a longstanding tradition, Michigan’s own Dixon’s Violin, who consistently opens and closes the festival with his distinctive electronic looping soundscapes.
Passes for Electric Forest 2026 will be available for purchase starting Friday at noon, and fans can register online now to prepare for the rush.
