Onyekpere criticizes Tinubu's one-year tenure as a failure on May 29

Onyekpere, the Lead Director of the Centre for Social Justice, has expressed his view that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's first year in office has been a failure.

In an interview on Channels Television, Onyekpere highlighted the poor implementation of fuel subsidy removal, naira harmonization, and other economic policies as the reasons for this assessment.

He emphasized that the past year has been challenging and filled with failures, and expressed hope that it will not be repeated.

Onyekpere also pointed out that Nigerians are experiencing the impact of economic hardship, with headline and food inflation increasing significantly.

He suggested that the President should consider removing non-performing ministers in order to prioritize the country's well-being.

Financial experts have also recognized the removal of fuel subsidy and naira harmonization as the most influential policies shaping Nigeria's economy over the past year.
